To Whom It May Concern,
May I take the opportunity to recommend Windwalker Expeditions from
Cave Creek, Arizona.
I have ridden western in Montana, Wyoming and Arizona and have always
found it difficult to avoid a nose to tail walk with first time riders.
Windwalker caters for the experienced rider and the choice of ride
is yours. Whether you prefer a couple of hours cantering along twisting
dry river beds on a surface similar to a good menage or an eight hour
endurance ride discovering breath taking scenery, animal life (watch
out for the rattle snakes) and realizing what a good trail horse can
really do.
You can also choose whether you want company or a one to one with
your own guide, oozing with southwestern hospitality.
I keep going back year after year to Windwalker and it just keeps
getting better.

Elizabeth
and I have talked so much about our wonderful day with you. I fear
we bored the others by constantly identifying every cactus and plant
for the next five days! I seldom get a good horseback ride anymore
and I did enjoy our day so much. You were very kind to bring Elizabeth's
glove back to us at the Princess. I enclosed a couple of photos. We
do hope to return.

I just wanted to thank you for the Fantastic ride! I had so
much fun! We will definitely keep you in mind for early summer riders!

Just wanted to say a big "Thanks" to Bill and Windwalker
expeditions for
our ride March 15th. Shannon was recovering for a few days from not
having ridden in a long time but the other 3 of us were fine. After
having experienced some public trail riding, I was concerned we would
just be plodding along. Instead the horses were great. If Katherine
could have gotten Prince on the plane he would be nibbling Tennessee
fescue about now. The ride was the highlight of the trip for me. When
we are back in your area, I hope I can convince the family for a full
day ride.

Thank you again for a wonderful morning in
the desert - I loved the whole experience. I told Abby the concierge
what a great time I had and that you might take her out - I think
she would love it.
Thanks again,

Dear Milton,
Here are some carrots and some treats for Black Jack, Tracker and
Renny. I have also enclosed the photos - they are great! I gave your
card to the concierge at Point South Mountain Resort. You should call
them @ (602) 438-9000 - they said they need someone like you on their
referral list. Thanks again for the one of a kind riding experience
you provided for Lauren and me. I've been telling everyone here at
home.
We'll be seeing you again. - Pegi August 8th 2001

Dear Mr. Joseph,
Better late than never! Please accept this belated thank you for the
time we spent last Nov. The company, the horse, the lunch and the
scenery were all fantastic. I hope to get an opportunity to visit
AZ again in the near future. You can be assured that if I'm in your
neighborhood, I will be calling for another adventure. One problem
- how am I ever going to be able to go on another horseback trip,
somewhere else in the country, and not be disappointed? I have been
truly spoiled. Please feel free to use the enclosed pictures anyway
you like - I think some of them turned out well. Let me know if any
make it onto the website.
Thanks again - I hope we meet up in the future. Until then
.
happy trails.

Dear Shelly and Windwalker Staff,
I would like to thank you for being so kind to invite Carol and I
to experience Windwalker & the desert first hand also. James for
being so Patient with this novice rider and making sure I was ok and
enjoying myself!
Carol and I both had a wonderful day and I look forward to trying
a longer ride next time!! Chandra |
Joseph,
What a gift you gave Nate and Me yesterday. I loved seeing more of
the beautiful open desert and thank you for the history and for bringing
James to expand our knowledge. Your sincere dedication to us made
us feel very special. Nate loved hanging back with James while we
got to play a little. Thank you for including us and dedicating your
time and passion.

I wanted to extend a very warm thank you for your generosity
last week. My brother and I had a wonderful time. It's so amazing
how much of the Arizona desert I've seen, yet its beauty still mezmorizes
me. Thank you for giving me the hands on experience of what you do
on a day-to-day basis. It is a pleasure to continue to recommend our
guests to Windwalker!

My wife and I wanted to go horseback riding and I told Gail that although
we were not experienced riders, we wanted an "Arizona Experience"
(don't know exactly what I meant by that). She arranged a 2-½
hour ride through Windwalker Expeditions. We met at Cave Creek Park.
They were already there. Our horses were perfectly suited for our
skill level and physiques. Our guide, Joseph, was very knowledgeable
and friendly. He took us up and down trails around Carefree Mountain.
It was one of the best times we had on horseback and truly got to
enjoy an Arizona Experience on trails where Apache and Calvary ran;
where pioneers mined for gold! It was just fabulous. We highly recommend
Windwalker to your guests.

Michele and I would like to thank you for the
fantastic riding experience last Saturday morning. As you know, we
enjoyed your expertise and the fine quality of your horses, particularly
"Blackjack". Personally, it was great to be riding on "real"
horses and to ride in a great location. Thank you for your courtesy
and your time. You should not hesitate to telephone us if there is
another opportunity. I am also available if you need another rider
to help explore some new trails.

How are you? How is riding going? I finally got the pictures - I think
they turned out great. Hope to see you again; it was definitely the
highlight of our trip to Arizona.

Dear Lynn,
Thank you for an exciting tour to a beautiful part of the world -
past, present & future. We were so pleased with the tour. It was
such a treat for our guests. Spring 1997 was so super because of our
tour.
Thank you - Doyne & Russ Coulter - Spring 1997 |
I am still smiling like a fool - I really had a good time. When
I got back to the hotel, I realized that we had been out for over
3 hours and I only paid for 2 hours. So enclosed is the balance due
and the book I thought you would enjoy.
Thanks again for a great time! - Julie, June 2nd 1998
P.S. My sister can't wait to go out on a ride the next time she is
in town. |
Dear Joseph and Shelly,
I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you what an enjoyable day
I had while in Arizona. It was one of the highlights of my trip. No
one could believe I had actually gone "four-wheeling". It
was such a pleasure to meet you both. Hopefully one day I will see
you again.
Thank you for such a great Day. Sincerely, Stella |
Milt,

Johnny and Milton,
Doyle and I would like to thank you for the wonderful horseback ride
last Saturday morning. Not only did we see beautiful scenery, we learned
a great deal about plant and wildlife of your area. It is an experience
we won't forget. We are looking forward to a return trip and hope
time will permit us to take a longer ride. Johnny, thanks also for
directions to Sedona via back roads. It was a great trip. Lunch and
the view in Jerome was exceptional.
Sincerely, Mary Ann and Doyle Palmer, June 17th 1998 Chesapeake, Virginia |
Dear Milton
Sorry 'bout being late with these pictures. Can't tell you how much
we enjoyed our introduction to the Sonoran Desert. Personally, the
openness of it is missing for me now
growing up under Midwestern
skies that now cover new housing tracts - well, I'm sure you know
what I mean. Everyone in our group had a great time due to you. Once
you get the website please let me know. Still trying to figure out
how to make time to get back.
Sincerely, Mike Brill, December 16th 1997 - Northbrook, Illinois |
Dear Shelly and Joseph,
I appreciate the time and effort you took to give Lori and I some
time to enjoy your horses and the beauty of the area in which you
live. I only wish we had spent the entire day with you. The short
time we had was very enjoyable. The next time I come out, it may well
be in my motor home so that I can stay longer.
My best, Steve Vanucci, February 6th 1998 Washington, Pennsylvania

Dear Windwalker,
Enclosed are some pictures from my ride, and you have my permission
to use them. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience and if I
have the chance to recommend you I absolutely do so.
Thank you, Marjorie Tomme |
Dear Joseph.
So sorry my thank you note is a little late, but no less sincere in
letting you know how much my daughter Chris and I enjoyed our ride
with you recently.
My report last Tuesday to the concierge staff was a huge success and
believe me, they had lots of questions. The pictures helped and I
would like you to keep them with my compliments.
It was a wonderful day Joseph, and one Chris and I wont forget. Now
we know, first hand, how well Windwalker, and you, takes such special
care of the horses and the guests. Hopefully we will have lots
of visitors here at the Princess Resort that will be looking for the
best in a horseback riding experience - and we know who to
recommend!

Dear Joseph and Shelly -
It was an absolute pleasure to have spent this week with you.! I haven't
had this much fun in a long time and I hope I can do this every year.
You two have created an incredible memory for Margaret and me. I can't
wait to get my film developed. I will send you a set though they cannot
do the experience justice. The thrills, chills and scratches (we are
still comparing them) are ingrained in my (our) memory. Take care
and I hope you will keep in touch. If you are ever near Cleveland,
I hope you will stop by so that I may attempt to repay your hospitality.
Merry Christmas and Thank you!!! Love Sharon and Margaret, Cleveland |
Hi Joseph,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking a day of your time to spend
with us. It was greatly appreciated. I hope your business continues

It was nice to see you both again. May good health and happiness always
be with you.

Dear Windwalker,
Just wanted to send you some of the pictures we took while horseback
riding with you, thank you once again! We had a great time learning

Joseph and Shelly,
Thank you so much for taking me and Candy on a glorious "Jeep
Tour" - or should I say "Bronco Tour". We had so much
fun! I don't know about candy but it's been a long time since I've
been on a adventure - I felt like I was on a scene from "Indiana
Jones". Our gas tip doesn't even come close to showing our appreciation.
Thank you both so much, again. P.S. I addressed the envelope to Joseph
because I didn't' know if you wanted me to put two different names
on the envelope. Card: "I mean, I'm talking serious thank-you's
here!

Dear Milton,
I just thought that I'd drop you a little line just to let you know
how much I enjoyed my vacation in Arizona, especially the riding.
I know that it will provide me with many memories that will last me
a lifetime. Everyday I wear the Arrowhead that we found and it has
become a true symbol of strength for me. Whenever things aren't going
quite right I know that just looking at it reminds me of all the simple
beauty and peace that I found on that trip. I've enclosed some pictures
of our trip all of which I think turned out excellent! How's Reds
training coming along? I'm sure that with some work and TLC he will
make an excellent lead horse perhaps even as good as snip one day!
I have now fully convinced my parents to let me come down all the
next summer, so if you still need a guide I'll be more than happy
to help out!
Thanks again for all the joy that your trip brought me, and all the
simple lessons that you teach us all everyday.
All my love to Shelly, Snip and Red, -- from one kindred spirit to
the other.

Dear Windwalker,
On two separate occasions in March 1997, Milton Joseph took us on
an educational trip into the desert of Arizona. Both experiences were
both pleasant and most informative. Milton's personality is such that
we felt comfortable with him, at ease, and certain of his qualifications
to impart knowledge of plant and animal desert life to us. His enthusiasm
regarding further exploration of the environment was contagious. Our
second excursion was one in which he showed us Indian petroglyphs
(a real desire of ours). He was proud of his discovery of these rare
petroglyphs and we felt fortunate to have seen them. We appreciated,
too, his firm desire to impart only authentic information to those
of us who were learning.
Yours truly, Albert and Florence Sidge |
Milton,
Thanks for the great ride. It was everything I wanted to get out of
the day. I look forward to returning with my wife and going on an
overnighter.
My Best Wishes, John Bennet, November 17th 2000 |
Dear Windwalker,
I finally have a chance to let you know that I have received my wallet
and all intact. I even got a little more ... wonderful desert sand
I am trying so hard not to knock the dirt off of it. It is so special
to me. I miss you all and AZ so much. You cannot imagine my grief
here in Dallas. I hope to return soon. I was wonder if James would
ever do a tour that would include tracking experiences. How to look
at and what to look at and for. I was just curious. Does he animal
hunt, I would love to hunt the wild stallions and just look at them.
Things like that. Maybe this is a special order. Let me know. Tell
all "Howdy" from us. Thanks for finding my wallet and sending
it so promptly.
If you ever need a tour of Dallas ... you got it.
Friends, Patricia Golden, February 23rd 2001 |
Dear Milt,
Just wanted to thank you again for the great time you showed us on
the "Desert Tour"! Your nickname of the "Professor"
is very appropriate - we not only learned a great deal but we also
had fun doing it! This was probably one of the only "tourist"
type adventures that I've dragged Jimmy on that he really enjoyed.
If we didn't have other commitments that afternoon, we would have
stayed out with you much longer.
Again, much thanks!!!

Dear Mr. Joseph,
I am not sure if you remember Kimberly and I...we are from Maryland,
went for a long ride over the Easter weekend, I am a teacher??? Anyway,
regardless, I wanted to let you know of a few things.
First, the ride was incredible. It convinced me to move to AZ and
make it my new home. I appreciated your keen sense with the horses,
of nature, and of the land. That day will remain one of the best in
my life for many years to come. So, soon thereafter I decided to move!
I returned to AZ for a week in June, and found a great teaching job
(very close to Cave Creek I might add!) and a nice apartment. I have
already made some interesting friends, too. That ride was the start
to such an interesting path. I just wanted to say thanks for not only
a great day, but for the inspiration I needed to get up and go.
Sincerely,
Christina Speed Wednesday 28th June 2000 |
Dear Milton
I thought you would like a few pictures. I've enlarged the one you
took And I've got a copy in a frame to remind me of the best day on
my vacation. Thanks for the great morning. I can't wait to get over
there again. Look. After Cowboy and give him a extra sugar lump for
me.

Hi Joseph,
It's Holly, How are you and your horses? We got home safely and it
is very cold. I hope we are going to come back in April to see you
all. I had a great time riding, thank you very much. When my friend
comes round to help me I will send you some pictures of Honey and
Coco. See you at Easter I hope.
From Holy, Coco, and Honey, United Kingdom, January 9th 2001 |
Bill,
I can't thank you enough for your kindness. I received the case and
have talked to Denise and we both agree it is so refreshing to meet
genuinely kind people like you. We enjoyed the ride immensely and
can't thank you enough for your patience. When I return, I'll be a
nonsmoker and therefore, will not cause any undue delay! Thanks again!
Hope all is going well. I'm enjoying telling my students about my
desert experience! - Sandi January 21st 2001 |
Dear Milton,
Here are some pictures of our ride in the desert with you. I'm sending
a total of 6 pictures. Please let me know if you don't receive them.
Sandy wanted me to tell you if you find her cigarette case to keep
the money (it's an extra tip for you). We had sooo much fun with you
on our ride, its definitely something I will never forget. I'm riding
tomorrow in an indoor arena, it's not gonna be the same by a long
shot. Thank You again for everything esp. for going back out to look
for Sandy's case, people here in upstate New York would never do such
a thing.
I also want to apologize for calling you Joseph, Mary Lou at the Legacy
told us that was your name. We didn't realize it until you gave us
your card. Say hello to BlackJack for me, he was a great horse.
Thanks again. Sincerely, Denise H. Fitzgerald January 8th 2001 |
Dear Milt:
I thank you for the great and glorious opportunity that you provided
me to ride with Yellow Snake. The riding was great, the scenery spectacular
and, quite frankly, the cuisine was excellent. Yellow Snake has great
talent over the open fire!!! I really enjoyed the ride from Mattie's
Fork over to Seven Springs. The Cave Creek scenery was fantastic.
Again, I thank you for your efforts in putting it all together. As
you know, I am available for such excursions, particularly if you
give me enough notice so I can push some things around. I also thank
you for your friendship with Michele. She really appreciates your
support and is feeling much better. We have a doctor's appointment
today, and I think that she is going to receive a very fine report
card.
With warm regards,
